Opportunities You Get with a Spanish Passport

Unlimited freedom of movement

Spanish citizenship grants access to 170+ countries without a visa, including all EU and Schengen Zone countries. The Spanish passport ranks high in global rankings and ensures maximum mobility for travel and business trips.

Advanced healthcare system

Spanish citizenship grants access to high-quality healthcare across the EU. You receive a European health card, ensuring free or subsidized treatment in public clinics in any EU country, as well as access to advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies.

Right to live and work in the EU

As a Spanish citizen, you automatically gain the status of an EU citizen. This means the ability to freely choose a country for residence among the 27 EU countries, work without additional permits, open a business, and enjoy all social guarantees on equal terms with locals.

Financial freedom and capital protection

A Spanish passport eliminates barriers when working with international banks. You can open accounts in European financial institutions, obtain favorable loans and mortgages, and conduct international transactions without additional checks and restrictions.

Access to European education

Your children have the right to study at the best universities in European countries on preferential terms, which are not available to foreigners. The cost of education for EU citizens is significantly lower, and the choice of programs and specialties is much broader than for non-citizen applicants.

Steps to Obtain Spanish Citizenship with Relocitizen's Support

We conduct a detailed analysis of your situation: study the basis for obtaining a residence permit, assess timelines, and calculate the full cost of participation in the program. We define the optimal naturalization path considering your goals and possibilities. We develop a personalized strategy for obtaining citizenship over the next 10 years.

We select the most appropriate basis for the visa: work, business, study, family reunification, or remote work (digital nomad visa). We prepare a full package of documents, translate them into Spanish with an apostille, fill out visa applications, schedule submissions at the consulate, and provide support until you receive the visa.

We prepare the file for submitting an application for Spanish citizenship. We work with archives and restore, if necessary, lost documents. We obtain various certificates and records in Spain and your country of residence. We notarize all documents and translate them into Spanish.

We provide you with a lawyer to assist with submitting the documents to the state authorities. We book a submission date for the prepared file, register the application, and track the progress of your case, which usually takes 12 to 24 months.

After receiving approval, we organize your participation in the citizenship oath ceremony. We prepare your Spanish birth certificate, obtain your DNI (national identity card), request a biometric international passport, and continue providing legal support on all issues.

Visa on Arrival — 44 countries
A visa on arrival is issued directly at the airport or border of the destination country. The procedure takes from a few minutes to an hour, with a consular fee required. ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) — 9 countries
An electronic travel authorization is processed online a few days before the trip through official government portals. Today

The journey to Spanish citizenship took me exactly 10 years, but every month of this time was justified. Relocitizen supported my family from obtaining the first visa to the oath ceremony. The help with document collection was especially valuable, as the lawyers pointed out nuances we would never have considered on our own. Now our children study at a Spanish school without any barriers, I work for a European company, and my wife started her own business. We are grateful to Relocitizen for their professionalism and human approach.

Yesterday

As the owner of an IT company, I spent a long time choosing a country for relocation. I chose Spain for its comfortable climate and access to the European market. With Relocitizen, I quickly got all my documents in order. Whenever questions arose, I received detailed consultations from specialists. The lawyers were always in touch. In the end, I got my Spanish passport faster than I expected. Thanks for helping me go through this process!

My husband and I, both doctors, moved to Spain in 2013 on a work visa. We wanted to give our daughter European education and the opportunity to work at a good clinic. Relocitizen took care of all the bureaucratic issues: from apostille on medical diplomas to registration in the municipality. There were difficulties with confirming continuous residence — we had to travel abroad several times for conferences, but the lawyers skillfully collected all the certificates and proved the legitimacy of our absence. We received citizenship in 2023. Our daughter was admitted to the University of Barcelona on a budget. We work at a public clinic and feel like full members of Spanish society. Thanks to Relocitizen for their patience and professional support!

In 2014, I moved to Spain and opened a travel agency in Valencia. From the very beginning, I worked with Relocitizen — they helped not only with a residence permit for business but also with company registration and opening accounts. Over the 10 years, the business grew, turnover increased, and I gained partners across Europe. When it was time to apply for citizenship, I turned to them again. The team collected documents, prepared for the interview and exams. Everything went smoothly. With a Spanish passport, it's much easier to negotiate, open offices in other EU countries, and overall feel confident. I recommend Relocitizen to anyone seriously planning their life in Spain, rather than trying to figure out the process themselves.

I'm a designer, working remotely with clients from different countries. I moved to Spain in 2014 on a non-lucrative visa — I didn’t want to depend on an employer. Relocitizen explained all the details: how to prove income, how to extend the status, when to apply for permanent residency. The most stressful moment was applying for citizenship — I had to prove 10 years of continuous residence, and I often traveled for business. The lawyers prepared all the certificates, and there were no problems. I passed the DELE and CCSE exams after attending courses recommended by Relocitizen. I received citizenship in 2024. Now I can freely work with European and American clients, and I have no restrictions when opening accounts with services like Wise, Revolut, and others. This is a completely different level of freedom and comfort. Thanks to the Relocitizen team for their support all these years!

I have been working on international ships for 15 years. I constantly faced visa problems — either I wasn’t allowed to enter the USA or transit through Europe was delayed. I decided to obtain European citizenship and chose Spain. Relocitizen helped me apply for the initial residence permit through real estate investment, and then supported me throughout the 10 years until I got my passport. The most difficult part was proving the time spent living in Spain due to my work schedule at sea, but the company's specialists gathered all the documents about port visits, contracts, and tax declarations. Everything went smoothly. Now, with a Spanish passport, work has become much easier: no need for visas in most countries, banks eagerly open accounts, and insurance is processed without issues. I recommend Relocitizen to all colleagues who plan to legalize in the EU.
