From a Startup in Moscow to a European Corporation

In 2013, IT startup founder Alexey turned to Relocitizen for help with business relocation. Alexey Goltsiev, 38, the founder of an IT startup, contacted us in 2013 with a request for help in relocating his business to Europe. The main challenge was that the company was in an active development stage, and the move could negatively impact operational activities. We developed a strategy: first, Alexey received an entrepreneur’s visa with a detailed business development plan in Spain. Then, he obtained a residence permit based on the registration of the company branch in Barcelona. After 5 years of residence under the visa, he transitioned to permanent residency and, after another 5 years, applied for Spanish citizenship. We paid special attention to the fact of continuous residence in Spain: although Alexey traveled actively for business meetings, we ensured that his trips did not exceed the allowed six months. He passed the DELE and CCSE exams on the first attempt after intensive preparation. In 2023, Alexey received his Spanish passport. Today, his company works with clients from 15 EU countries, has offices in three European cities, and Alexey actively invests in local real estate and startups.
